Most AliExpress products reach Shopify through an importer app such as DSers. It copies the supplier listing into your store as it is: the title the seller wrote to rank on AliExpress, a description that is often just a list of specifications, the images and every variant.
That gets products into the store fast. It doesn't give you product pages that read well, rank in Google or look different from the hundred other stores that pushed the same item. This page covers what arrives, what stays empty, and how to fix it once for the whole catalog.
Will DSers overwrite your edits?
DSers keeps only price and stock in sync after a product is pushed. A title or description you rewrite in Shopify stays rewritten, unless you use Replace product.

What goes wrong with imported AliExpress products
Titles stuffed with keywords
Sellers pack titles with search terms like "2026 New" and "Fashion" because that is how AliExpress search works. DSers' own AI title template is told to remove exactly those words. In your store they make products look like a marketplace listing, and Google Shopping shows only about the first 70 characters anyway.
English text in a non-English store
Products arrive in English even when you browse AliExpress in German or Spanish, and a Shopify staff member replying on the Shopify Community called that unsupported in DSers. If your store's default language is German, Shopify treats the English text as German, so Translate & Adapt can't translate it for you.
Descriptions that are a spec dump
DSers pushes only the specifications by default and leaves the seller's overview images behind. What is left is a list like "Material: Polyester, Origin: Mainland China, Pattern Type: Floral", sometimes with sentences DSers' help center tells you to delete because they are gibberish or machine-translated.
The same text as every other store
Every store that pushes the same AliExpress product gets the same title and the same description. Shoppers comparing stores see identical pages, and search engines have no reason to rank yours.
Will DSers overwrite your edits?
No, for text. DSers' help center says changes in the Import List don't affect products you have already pushed, and after the push DSers keeps price and stock in sync, not the title or description. Its notifications cover cost changes, stock, SKU changes and products that disappear. So a title you rewrite in Shopify stays rewritten.
Two things do touch pushed products: the bulk price refresh, which only changes prices, and "Replace product", which pushes a product again over an existing one. Rewrite after you replace, not before.
How to fix a catalog of AliExpress products
For a few products, edit them in DSers' Import List before you push, or in Shopify after. DSers has AI title and description tools on its paid plans, with monthly limits, and its AI translation works from English into a set of other languages.

Frequently asked questions
Does DSers write SEO titles and meta descriptions?
Its import settings don't mention the page title or meta description, so plan on writing them yourself. Without them, Shopify builds the search listing from the product title and the start of the description.
Will editing a product in Shopify break the DSers link?
No. DSers keeps syncing price and stock after you edit the title or description, because its sync never touches the text.
Can I translate AliExpress products into my store language?
DSers can translate from English with its AI translation. A text app that writes in your store language can also rewrite and translate in one step, so the title, description and meta description come out in the same language.
Should I remove variants before pushing?
Yes, if you won't sell them. Shopify Community threads describe products arriving with more than 100 variants because plug types multiplied across lengths. Removing them in the Import List is easier than deleting them later.
