Where Magento product data goes wrong
Large Magento catalogs are rarely typed in by hand. Products arrive as CSV files through System > Data Transfer > Import, whether the data started in an ERP, a PIM or a supplier's spreadsheet, and whatever the supplier wrote goes straight into the name, description and short description. That includes internal codes and copy written for somebody else's shop.
Store views add a second problem. Adobe's docs ask you to translate the product name, description fields and meta data for each store view, and an import row with a blank store_view_code only applies to the default store view. Meta fields can be filled in automatically from the Product Fields Auto-Generation masks, and the default Meta Title mask is just the product name. So a supplier's messy product name can end up as your page title in search results too.

Will it handle store views and attribute sets?
